Chief Executive Officer

Paolo is a juggling act between being a devoted dad and a not-so-serious amateur athlete, sprinting, biking, and swimming on weekends, all in the name of justifying that extra Tiramisu' portion!

With nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance brokerage industry, Paolo excels in client relationships and market strategy. His expertise global markets, equipping him with a robust understanding of complex risk environments. He holds an Executive MBA from INSEAD.

Tin Radosevic 

Executive Director ​

In his free time Tin enjoys playing Tennis, Football and is also a passionate Skier. He loves Japanese food and the diverse London culinary scene.

Tin serves as an Executive Director on SBI’s board and is a Partner at Zurich based PE firm Brera Capital Partners, the majority owner of GBSAPRI, which is the ultimate parent of SBI.

Edward Short

Executive Director ​

A new convert to country life, Ed loves spending his time hacking away in the garden and the golf course. Whilst he takes great pleasure in traveling and exploring the history and food of each country, it is with his family that he is happiest, ideally gathered round the BBQ with an excellent glass of wine.

Professionally, Ed enjoys the challenge of the traditional Marine classes whether on the hull, liability or cargo/ property side. Over more than 20 years in the industry, he has developed strategically cutting edge, bespoke insurance products to meet the evolving needs of client across the sector. Combining technical expertise with a forward-thinking approach he remains focussed on delivering excellent client service solution focussed products which equally form the cornerstone our offering at Smith Bilbrough.

John Scotchmer ACII

Senior Account Handler

When not providing a bespoke Taxi service to the children or walking the dog, John enjoys watching American Football and Formula 1 racing.  

John graduated from the South Bank in 1982 where he read Business Studies.  After three years at Andrew Weir on the Hull underwriting side he joined Smith Bilbrough & Co. Ltd (SBI) in 1985 as a market broker and technician.  He later moved across into claims where he not only honed his technical knowledge but gained a practical insight into operational concerns and problems facing shipowners and charterers before returning to a predominately broker and technician role.

Margo Trecha LLB, LLM

Trainee Account Handler 

When not in the office, Margo enjoys travelling, spending time with friends, and being with her dog. She is always happy to find an excuse for a bit of shopping, discovering new restaurants, or catching a film at the cinema. During the summer, you will most likely find her somewhere on a beach in Greece.

Margo relocated from Greece to the UK to pursue her studies, completing her LLB at the University of East Anglia and her LLM at Queen Mary University of London. She joined SBI in January, where she supports placements and works closely with underwriters and clients across the insurance market.

Iain Young LLB, LLM, AKC

Head of Claims, General Counsel 

Outside work Iain enjoys a wide range of music from classical through to heavy metal.  He enjoys travelling and, where possible, combines this with his love of steam trains and steamships.

After obtaining his LLB, AKC from King’s College London, Iain was called by Lincoln’s Inn.  Afterwards he obtained his LLM in Maritime Law from University College London.  His main roles are to provide internal legal advice, particularly in respect of maritime law and marine insurance and to assist in handling of claims.

Dimitri Tsolakis

Cyprus Office Director 

Dimitri joined SBI in 2026 as Cyprus Office Director to assist with the expansion of the company's EU business.
